What coaching changes mean to high school recruiting

Biggest news is Erickson being let go at ASU. Talked to most of the in-state commits. Desert Mountain long snapper is staying. He is enrolling in January and said he is committed to the school, not the head coach. North Canyon corner Jamar Allah and Chaparral defensive tackle Jarvis Lewis are still committed but I don’t think it will be for long, expect them to open things back up as they had multiple offers prior to committing.

The breakout player of the year was definitely RB/DB Paul Perkins from Chandler. Paul received his 8th offer recently, from Fresno State. He has set up a visit there and to Northwestern.

Scottsdale CC quarterback Cody Sokol prepped at Desert Vista but was robbed of his senior year because of injury. He had a great career at SCC, passing for almost 8,000 yards. Maryland and Cincinnati offered and he will trip to both in December and will head to Miami to visit Florida International too.

Another DV quarterback has made his college choice. Hunter Rodriguez has committed to Utah but not to play football. He signed early with the Utes on a baseball scholarship. Utah has asked him to walk on and he would be a great walk on get. Idaho offered and more schools would have offered after he had a very good senior year.

I love high motor prospects and linebacker Addison Palomino from Pinnacle is one of those guys. Idaho recently offered him and he will trip there and to UNLV.

Slepper prospect of the week: Ikaia Nawahine safety from Chaparral. What a great week he had. He received his first offer from South Dakota State and then helped his team win a state title.
