At age 39, Grant Hill finds Interest from multiple teams “interesting”

Grant Hill reported to the U.S. Airways Center for the first time on Friday where he worked out and was treated on by the trainers.

Once the lockout officially comes to an end, Grant Hill will officially become a free agent.

“I want to let the process run its course,” Hill said on Friday.  “It has been a very interesting process to say the least.  And unusual to the sense that everything is so accelerated because of the work stoppage and the rush to get things started.”

Despite being 39 years young, there has been reports that Hill has gained some interest from other teams around the NBA.

“It’s been unusual at age 39 to get that many sort of looks and so forth,” explained Hill. “It’s interesting.”

Other than the Suns one team in particular where there has been reported interest in Hill is the New York Knicks.

But Suns Forward Channing Frye, a former Knick who also reported to U.S. Airways Center for the first time Friday, said he is optimistic Hill will return to the Suns.

“Hopefully he does whats best for Grant. He deserves to go wherever he is comfortable and he has earned that,” Frye said Friday. “Hopefully that place is here (Phoenix).”

Suns Point Guard Steve Nash met with the media on Thursday and expressed great desire in wanting Hill to return to the Suns next season.

“I am very hopeful Grant will be back.  It is very very important to me that he is back personally.  I think he is very important to the team and community,” Nash explained.  “I am not sure where it (Hill’s free agency) stands but I know the organization understands his value to the team.”

Hill was very appreciative of Nash’s comments.

“He (Nash) didn’t have to speak up but I am certainly glad that he did,” Hill stated on Nash’s remarks about him wanting Hill to stay in Phoenix.   “When Mr. Canada, Mr. North America comes out and endorses you, that’s a good thing.”

The Suns will begin their training camp at Grand Canyon University at the start of next week where Suns fans and players will be hopeful that Grant Hill will be in attendance as well.
