Kyle Stanley looking to bounce back at Waste Management Phoenix Open

So you think you had a bad weekend?

Kyle Stanley at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines had a three shot lead as he walked up to the 18th tee. After posting an eight, Stanley was forced into a playoff with Brandt Snedecker and came up on the losing end.

Stanley arrived in Phoenix and made his first appearance in front of the media from the TPC Scottsdale on Tuesday. He was quick to mention the great amount of support he has received since Sunday’s debacle.

“Sunday was obviously a very tough day,” said Stanley on Tuesday. “But I am just trying to focus on the positive things I did last week. I played some really good golf. Sunday night was tough but I had one of my best friends in town, my agent was with my and my family was there too, so that was nice.”

Stanley has since also gotten support from people he has been a big supportive of.

“I am overwhelmed by the amount of support I’ve gotten from people, it’s been great. I’m a huge Gonzaga fan and their basketball Coach texted me Sunday night so that was cool,” Stanley mentioned.

The great thing about the tour is that you have the opportunity to bounce right back the next week and that is the opportunity that Stanley has in coming to the Waste Management Phoenix Open. And he is excited to arrive to the Valley.

“I didn’t play here last year, so I certainly know what it’s like with the fans at 16 and all that,” Stanley explained. “This is actually one of the tournaments that I’ve been looking forward to playing this year, so it should be fun.”

Stanley and the rest of the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open players tee-off on Thursday morning.
