BLOG: Everyone in Indy has opinion on Peyton Manning

Greetings from Indianapolis. Myself and Ed Cole from Pros2Preps.com will be here for the remainder of the week providing blogs, videos, insight and random tidbits we hear from the NFL Combine which starts on Thursday.

This is the first installment of my daily blog which will include the latest news and notes from the Combine, specifically regarding the Cardinals as they prepare for the draft, as well as the high number of ASU and UofA players who will be looking to improve or solidify their status by impressing scouts and NFL reps with their physical and mental skill sets here in Indy.

Of course when you land well into the night and you’re in the middle of your commute from the airport to the hotel, you have to ask your cabbie his thoughts on Peyton Manning, right?

Me: “So you do you think Peyton Manning’s coming back to the Colts next season?”

Cabbie: “That’s not happening.”

Me: “So what makes you think it’s a sure thing?

Cabbie: “It’s too much money…$28 million.”

Our hotel is literally a rocks throw from Lucas Oil Stadium here in downtown Indianapolis and as Ed and I were walking to grab a bite to eat tonight, you couldn’t help but notice the massive Peyton Manning banner draped over the side of the stadium.

Wonder if we’ll be seeing that on eBay in the next couple weeks?

Speaking of our hotel…

When we checked in tonight I asked the nice woman at the front desk what the room rates were for this establishment a few weeks ago for the Super Bowl. She said the NFL “bought out” the hotel for the week, but guests not associated with the league did have the option to reserve a room for the low, low price of $9,999.99 per night with 17% sales tax.

I can’t make this stuff up.
