Dobson guard officially signs with USD

Arizona Sports News online

Just days from the first game of her senior year, Dobson guard Katherine Hamilton made it official and signed her letter of intent with the University of San Diego.

Hamilton led the Mustangs in scoring last season with 14 points per game, leading the team as a junior to a 24-9 record and leading her Dobson team to the final four. She joins two others in the 2014 USD recruiting class. Guard Cori Woodward from Vancouver, Washington and forward Alexandria Young from San Diego.

She joins a former Lady Mustang in the process. Kameron Knutson, the 6’3″ junior forward, was teammates with Hamilton when she was a freshman and the two have remained close. Hamilton first got to know the USD staff when she was in eighth grade and said she considers them like family.

This season, the fast breaking and full court pressing Dobson team look to make a run at a state championship. Hamilton and her Lady Mustangs begin their 2012-13 season against Highland on November 20th.
