Former Sun Devil star Bradford set for Chargers workout

Carl Bradford’s future is wide open.

The former Arizona State star Devilbacker who left Tempe after his junior year has been busy preparing for life after college with the NFL draft just over a month away (May 8-10). The 2013 All Pac-12 Second-Team performer has been training in Phoenix following the Sun Devils Holiday Bowl loss to Texas Tech back on December 30.

Bradford participated in the NFL Combine in February, as well as ASU’s Pro Day last month where he improved his speed testing results and others from Indianapolis.

After already working out for the Falcons and Patriots, Bradford is off to San Diego Thursday to go through drills and meet with the Chargers.

“I met with the [Chargers] linebacker coach Joe Barry at my pro day and went over some film with him and he worked me out,” Bradford explained to Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat during an in-studio interview on Wednesday. “Now they want to bring me back to San Diego to meet everybody and check out the facilities so I’m excited.”

Some projections have Bradford going as high as late-first, early second round of the draft. He may be moved from a rush-end like he played at ASU to inside linebacker at the next level.

He led the Devils with 19 tackles-for-loss last fall and tied for the team lead in sacks with 8.5. He also forced three fumbles.
