Mike Bell, D-Backs Director of Player Development:
“If you go out to watch eight guys throwing a side, you are just going to gravitate towards him because he is a lot of fun to watch throw a baseball. He does it easy, it looks like he can throw all day and not get tired. He has good fastball command for a lefty, good breaking ball, good change-up. He has everything you’re looking for in a starter.”

Notes:
(Updated 7/5) Banda has been one of the biggest bright spots on the Diamondbacks organization this season with his great numbers in Mobile which recently at the end of June promoted him up to Reno and he also represented the team at the Futures Game in San Diego recently. He won his last four starts with the BayBears having given up no runs in the final three of them. His jump up to the Pacific Coast League has not been easy as of yet like it isn’t for any pitcher in what’s notoriously been known as a hitter friendly league. Once he gets on track there, there could be an outside chance he gets a shot as a September call up at the big league level this season.
