Jordan HammTy Robinson became Higley football’s first All-American on Friday.
The senior defensive end will be playing in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX, this January. Friday afternoon, he was presented with his jersey.
“It’s really surreal,” Robinson said. “Freshman year, I didn’t think I was going to be an All-American, but now I made my dreams a reality through the hard work I’ve given myself and with (Elev8 co-founder Dwayne Millner) and Coach Eddy Zubey with Higley. It’s a reality now.”
Pinnacle quarterback Spencer Rattler and Williams Field defensive back Noa Pola-Gates, who also received his jersey on Friday, will also participate in the bowl this year. Chandler tight end Brayden Liebrock and Notre Dame Prep athlete Jake Smith will also participate in the Under Armour All-American Bowl.
Before Robinson makes his way to San Antonio, he will also make his commitment public on early signing day on December 19th. His final five schools are Alabama, Stanford, Oregon, Nebraska and USC. He and Pola-Gates are two of the most sought-after uncommitted recruits in the 2019 class. A member of the Stanford coaching staff was in attendance for the jersey ceremony on Friday, and Alabama head coach Nick Saban stopped by Higley and Williams Field on Wednesday.

Robinson, who wants to become a pediatrician when his football days are over, is prioritizing a few things in his recruitment.
“The defensive line coach is really what I look for, just how they’re going to develop me in their coaching philosophy,” Robinson said. “Definitely their strength and conditioning program, that’s why I’ve taken these visits. All of these visits I’ve been on have been eye-opening to see what it’s really like at the college level.”
Regardless of where he ends up, Higley head coach Eddy Zubey says each program knows what to expect if Robinson commits to their school.
“They’re getting a kid that works his tail off, super competitive on and off the field,” Zubey said of Robinson. “He tries to be a good person. He’s a good football player, he’s a technician, he’s easily coached. He’s easily motivated. They’re going to get someone who can benefit them early.”
The All-American Bowl can be seen on NBC on January 5th at 11 a.m. Arizona time.
