Predictions, News and Views on 2020

Madison Bumgarner, Taylor Hall,  the 8th pick in the April NFL Draft, and hooper Alexandra Zeyala are just a few of the names you need to know in the Arizona sports scene for 2020. Zeyala passed the 1,000 point mark last month at Millennium high school. She’s already signed to play at North Carolina. Is Hall going to be a one year rental or a longterm member of the Arizona Coyotes? Can Mad Bum lead the Diamondbacks rotation to a September playoff run? Bobby Hurley needs to see a new building at sooner than later..

A major high school quarterback prospect, with several D1 offers,  will transfer into the Valley…

Phoenix Rising FC will continue to be content with their current space as a USL franchise. Major League Soccer added St. Louis, Sacramento and Charlotte in 2019 without any comment from Rising ownership. Good for the  Rising owners for sticking together with their game plan. At some point, an indoor facility plan must be unveiled. I’m hopeful that will happen here in 2020…

NASCAR’s title race at Avondale will set an all-time attendance record at the track. On the other side, the numbers at this years WM Open will see  a decrease, but still have over 600-thousand fans roll through the turnstiles…

Brophy head football coach Jason Jewell will be hearing from college coaches about moving up to that level…

The Suns will actually have their starting lineup together enough to make a run at the 8th seed in the playoffs this Spring…

The Coyotes will make a deep playoff run IF they can get Darcy Kuemper back and hot for the postseason…
