Well-Versed Stewart Adjusting Well At Nevada

Riccardo Stewart has had a unique path so far on this journey of life.. From playing college football at ASU under Bruce Snyder and Dirk Koetter, to pastoring at Redemption Tempe, to being the Sun Devil Football Chaplain under former Sun Devil Head Coach Todd Graham, to coaching under Jason Jewell at Brophy College Prep last season, to his brand new position as the Defensive Analyst at the University of Nevada.

“When I was leaving ASU, my goal was to become a college football coach,” Riccardo expressed to Sports360AZ.com. Coach Stewart has achieved his dream at such a young and this is only the beginning. He credits  Brophy head coach Jason Jewell for being the one to put Nevada on his radar.

Stewart and I have a close connection because he was my pastor at Redemption Tempe for the last four years. I moved back from Los Angeles and I didn’t have a church here in town. I found Redemption and I am so thankful I did.

Stewart has a way with words; a way to get you to sit up in your seat and listen; a way of coming down to your level to explain things you might not have known. He has made an impact in my life and others.

It is exciting to see how the Lord is using him to help groom the next generation of young adults. We were blessed to call him our pastor for those years and now young athletes from all over are just as lucky to be able to have his ear so close to them.

From siting in church, listening to him on the stage, to now being the one to interview him on his new adventure…life always comes full circle and I can’t wait to see where this all takes him.
