Arizona Cardinals ‘Place To Be’ For A.J. Green

The Cardinals are all in on the 2021 season, showcasing that with aggressive signings. Seven-time Pro Bowler A.J. Green is the latest addition to the offense.

He was introduced by the Cardinals today at a press conference. Green says his decision came down to feeling wanted by the organization among other factors.

“I felt like Arizona gave me the best chance, ” Green said. ” I’m excited about the whole direction of this team and where this organization is going. ”

Something to prove

Green hasn’t been the same player he was from 2011-2017 due to recurring injuries. Last year he played in 14 of 16 games, racking up 523 yards and two touchdowns with 47 catches. Now, he will be in an offense led by Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins, which takes some pressure off the the 33-year-old pass catcher.

“Coming to Arizona is refreshing,” Green said. “I’m just looking forward to getting into this offense, getting to work, just getting back to playing football. ”

Green realizes there’s talent in the valley, which is why he feels like he belongs. The team has something to prove in 2021, and so does he.

The last remaining question with this wide receiver core is whether or not Larry Fitzgerald will return. Green would love to be his teammate and learn more from the future hall of famer.

“He’s like a big brother to me,” Green said. “No matter what happens I know he’s always going to be in my corner.”
