Playing at 5th ranked Stanford this Saturday is not going to be a picnic for Arizona State. It’s game two of their four game “stretch of doom”. So far, Stanford has done the expected, beating San Jose State and Army in the first two weeks.
Quarterback Kevin Hogan has completed 62 percent of his passes while being picked off once and sacked twice. Running back Tyler Gaffney, who skipped last season to play baseball, ran for 132 yards against Army and caught a 23 yard TD pass.
Stanford also has a terrific wide receiver in Ty Montgomery.
Defense was the preseason calling card for Stanford. But in the Saturdays game, the Cardinal allowed 333 yards on 71 plays against the triple option attack of Army.
Kickoff is at 4pm this Saturday from Stanford.
