The Oklahoma Sooners earned a big commitment from Pinnacle quarterback Spencer Rattler in the class of 2019. They’ll follow up the 2020 class with at least one commitment from another elite Arizona football player.
Williams Field offensive tackle Noah Nelson committed to the Sooners Monday night.
Excited for the next chapter of my life!!!

The 6-foot-6, 293-pound offensive tackle visited the Sooners twice over the span of a month. He holds offers from the Sooners, Michigan, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisian Lafayette, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Purdue, USC, Utah and Washington State.
Nelson most recently visited Oklahoma on May 3rd and felt this trip was more focused on learning more about the Sooner culture on the field and in the classroom.
“I got to meet the players and spend a lot more time with the coaches and see what they’re about instead of just watching them practice and all that,” Nelson said.
“I wanted to get some questions answered to make sure it checked off all my boxes and all that.”
Consider all those boxes checked.
Sooners May Not Be Done
The Sooners have been more focused on the state of Arizona in their recruiting efforts, offering eight players in this class alone. Those offers include Bijan Robinson, Jason Harris, Damian Sellers, Kelee Ringo, Jacobe Covington and Lathan Ransom. Covington and Ransom were both recently visiting campus during the Sooners’ spring game.
Williams Field O-Line Won’t Be Done Either
The Black Hawks feature one of the most experienced offensive lines in the state. Along with Nelson, Cooper Darling and Andrew Garcia have seen their recruitments pick up. Darling has added offers from NAU, Idaho, Arizona State, Oregon State and San Diego State. Garcia holds offers from NAU, New Mexico State and Liberty.
