A Barry Bonds incident you probably don't remember

If you are a baseball fan or if you had a pulse back in 1983 you know of the George Brett incident at Yankee Stadium. When he hit a home run in the top of the ninth off the great Goose Gossage which was ultimately called out because the pine tar on the bat was past 18 inches and his unbelievable tirade he went on that followed.

What you probably don’t remember, was that an Arizona State Sun Devil outfielder by the name of Barry Bonds was involved in a very similar incident just one year later in a game at Packard Stadium in Tempe on May 6, 1984.

This story begins on that day where ASU was trailing Stanford 9-5 in the bottom of the 5th. The Sun Devils had already won the first two of the three-game series. Leading off the inning was Barry Bonds who has two hits in the game already, but no questions in regards to his bat.
