A.J. Pollock was on an MVP contender pace before injuring his thumb on May 14th, hitting .293 with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs in 40 games. After six weeks away, he makes his return on Monday where he will man centerfield and bat fourth.
Since the injury, the Diamondbacks went 23-20 and have acquired Jon Jay to help with the outfield depth. He was in two rehab games with the Reno Aces. In the second game, he went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, walk, stolen base and three RBIs. After a quick rehab assignment, and some inspiration a la D2: Mighty Ducks, Pollock is now with the big league club.

The Diamondbacks are currently at 47-37 and have a 2.5 game lead in the National League West. They are opening up a home series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
