There will be no high school basketball, wrestling, or soccer this season.
The board heard from the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee as COVID-19 numbers continue to rise across the state.
Last year’s spring season was cut short when the coronavirus pandemic hit in March and the fall sports season was significantly delayed until counties could meet the necessary metrics. Districts like Phoenix Union and Tolleson never got their fall seasons off the ground and Tucson saw multiple starts and stops.
A decision about the upcoming spring season has not been decided at this time.
