Fresh off its run to the NCAA Tournament, Bryce Drew and Grand Canyon continues to make moves through the transfer portal this offseason.
Just a few days after landing former Arizona State forward Taeshon Cherry, the Lopes added another former Power Five player in Aidan Harris Igiehon. The former Lousiville Cardinals forward posted to social media with his announcement on Friday afternoon.
“Yes Lord, I have heard you and this is the path I will take.” I woke up this morning proclaiming this message. Let’s pick it up where you left off #4. 🙏🏾 To the city of Louisville, thank you for accepting some kid from Ireland with open arms. You will Forever be in my heart. pic.twitter.com/09D5ZNounJ

A 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward/center out who is originally from Dublin, Ireland, Igiehon put up only 2.6 points and 1.6 rebounds in limited playing time with the Cardinals. Igiehon played in just 18 games over his two years with the program, as he was also hampered by injuries and adjusting to the Division I game.
During this past season, he also had a bout with mono that kept him sidelined for parts of the year. He put his name in the transfer portal a day after Selection Sunday.
Similar to Cherry at Arizona State, transferring to GCU will allow the imposing big man to have a new and fresh start under Drew after a difficult first couple of seasons. He’ll look to add depth, size and strength to the Lopes frontcourt.
