Arguably the state’s top linebacker is heading west for college. Chandler High tackling machine Zach Bowers is furthering his educational and football career on the big island.

A key cog on Shaun Aguano’s defense, the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder tallied 69 tackles, including 5.5 for loss as a junior in 2017. He also forced two fumbles and recorded nine quarterback hurries for the 6A state champion Wolves.

“This is a good get for Hawaii,” Sports360AZ.com Recruiting Expert Jason Jewell said. “Bowers is super-productive and a standout on defense for a nationally ranked Chandler squad. He plays with passion and is all over the field.”
A three-star recruit, Bowers also had offers from Air Force, Army, Nevada, New Mexico State, Oregon State, Syracuse, NAU and Brown.
