Arizona crushes UNLV in football season opener

Arizona Sports News online

787 yards of total offense for Arizona on Friday night in their 58-13 romp over UNLV. 787!!!!
“Slippery” would be the best way to describe ‘Cats qb Anu Solomon. He averaged just under 10 yards per completion, but he also gained 6 yards per carry and showed more than once an ability to escape harms way with his feet.

I thought it was a pretty clean first game for the Wildcats. No turnovers and a couple of the seven penalty flags thrown against them were cheap calls.

DeVonte’ Neal and Connor Brewer both got into the end zone Friday night against UNLV. If I were UofA coaches, I would hammer home both of those players names when I am talking to high school kids about thinking of getting out of the state to play college ball. Sure, you can always point to others who have gone out of state and done well. My point is just because Notre Dame and Texas send you letters and the national stage looks very inviting, most times it isn’t.
Texas A&M backup quarterback Kyle Allen is the latest big name QB to leave our state(Desert Mtn.) for a situation that is now not looking very promising for him long term. I am already of the mindset that he will transfer out.

Next up for Arizona will be UTSA this coming Thursday. Texas-San Antonio throttled University of Houston Friday night 27-7, holding the Cougars to minus-27 yards rushing.
The Roadrunners are a senior laden bunch, I don’t think that this game will be a walk-over for UofA.
