Following the recent commitment of Omarr Norman-Lott, Arizona State landed another defensive standout Friday in linebacker Caleb McCullough.

The Oxnard, California native currently plays at Pacifica High School and will be graduating in 2020. He’s listed at 6’3” and 215 pounds.

At Pacifica, McCullough has recorded 35 solo tackles and 76 total tackles, but has averaged 11 stops per game.

McCullough has a nice frame which allows him to play any linebacker position. However, he fits best as an inside linebacker.

His stature also provides him with an advantage to cover opposing tight ends, with the speed to isolate on running backs, as well. Arizona State has slowly found a defensive identity, but it’s still a work in progress.  Considering the two sides, this will benefit both ASU and McCullough.

Sun Devils’ linebacker coach Antonio Pearce was the first to offer McCullough. He finished with a slew of Power 5 offers from national brands like Oregon, USC, UCLA, Utah and Nebraska.

He’s ranked as a top-50 player nationwide at his position and will likely schedule an official visit in the coming weeks.
