The Arizona State basketball team’s backcourt was already looking promising for next season after Jahii Carson announced he would be returning for his sophomore season. An announcement on Monday looks to have made the scoring in the Sun Devil backcourt even better.
Back on June 18th, Penn State soon-to-be redshirt senior guard Jermaine Marshall announced he would be transferring for his final year of eligibility. On July 8th, he announced that the destination of that transfer is Tempe, Arizona.
Marshall is a post-grad transfer and will be immediately eligible to play in the 2012-13 season. The 6-4, 205 pound guard was sixth in the Big Ten in scoring averaging 15.3 points along with 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a red shirt junior for the Nittany Lions last season. Which means the Sun Devil backcourt with Marshall and Carson combined averaged more than 33 points per game in 2012-13.
