Sports360AZIf anything, you can already call Herm Edwards’ first pairs of recruiting classes consistent. The new Arizona State head coach announced the Sun Devils signed 11 student-athletes on Wednesday, the same number from their early signing day in December.
Edwards and his staff put heavy emphasis on the state of California, adding a total of 12 players from one of ASU’s most-targeted recruiting areas. They also added former Hamilton High School star and Stanford starter Casey Tucker who arrives in Tempe as a graduate transfer.

“We basically came in late,” Edwards said Wednesday afternoon inside Sun Devil Stadium. “But I thought our staff…allowed us to pick some players that fit our DNA. With that being said I think we fit a lot of needs, especially in a short period of time. We really upgraded our roster and it started with our offensive line.”

“We’re going to be much bigger, much longer and more powerful as a football team,” Edwards explained. “You’ll see. When you come to spring [workouts], you’ll see a difference.”
The Devils did not land any of the state’s top 10 rated prospects. The only freshman in-state signee was Safford offensive lineman Ralph Frias.
