ASU lands point guard, not Casey Benson

When talking about the top high school point guards to come out of Arizona in recent years, my list is pretty small. Mike Bibby, Jerryd Bayless(who was more of a combo), and Jahii Carson. Corona Del Sols Casey Benson would make my list but I’m not sure that we will get a chance to see him stay in the Valley after his high school career is complete.

Friday, ASU received a commitment from 6-1 point guard Tra Holder out of Brentwood High in Los Angeles. Holder poured in 22 points per game as a junior and was first team All-CIF Southern Section. Holder was offered by Oklahoma State and Florida State and had looked at Oregon as well before giving Sendek a verbal on an unofficial visit to campus this week.

Holder becomes the third player for the Sun Devils 2014 class which includes shooting guard Kodi Justice(Dobson High) and power forward Connor MacDougall(Corona Del Sol).

Now it’s time to see what Benson is going to do.
