Torkelson tied Bonds’ record last weekend at UCLA.
The freshman is now tied second nationally with his 12 home runs behind Cal power hitter Andrew Vaughan who has 13. The next record for Torkelson to smash is ASU alum Mitch Jones’ single-season home run record of 27 set in 2000.
The Sun Devils dropped game one of three against the Cougars 8-7 in 10 innings.
