Two nights of championship racing has brought two nights of NASCAR Overtime finishes.
Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe, and Justin Allgaier all battled throughout the night and traded off the lead back and forth. Late in the race, Austin Cindric unveiled his oval talent by taking the lead for Allgaier and began to run away with the victory.
A late caution caused by Chase Briscoe would stack the field up for a two-lap shootout with a split pit strategy. Allagier decided to stay out while Cindric pitted for fresh tires.
“I’m speechless, I can’t believe it,” Cindric said post-race. “You know the equipment you’re in is the best of the best and the people you’re working with are the best of the best.”
This is Cindric’s first oval championship at any level and the victory earned him Xfinity Series career win number eight.
NASCAR Championship Weekend concludes tomorrow with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship as Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, and Denny Hamlin battle for the title at 1 PM on NBC.
