Boulder Creek quarterback Bear Milacek has made the most of his opportunities over the past season and a half.
After coming in as a sophomore to replace an injured quarterback, Milacek threw for 723 yards, eight interceptions and two interceptions. He then took his next steps as the starter in 2019 and threw for 2,379 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Now entering his senior year, he’s being patient on and off the field and seeing his recruitment start to pick up. He currently has offers from Western Kentucky and Valparaiso and said he has also been talking to the likes of Iowa State, Colorado and UCLA.
After a great conversation with @BryanEllisWKU I am extremely blessed and humbled to announce that I have received a division 1 offer to Western Kentucky University! #hilltoppers pic.twitter.com/5n2h70P6La

“Those programs that have offered me have outstanding coaches!” Milacek said over a message. “Both schools had at least one coach that saw me for the player I am and the player I will develop into and believed in me.”
While spring ball has been put on hold, Milacek has been using that team to his advantage, working with a six days a week twice a day and throwing consistently.
“This offseason for me has been a grind. I haven’t stopped lifting and getting extra work on the field even during the pandemic.”
The quarterback either plans to make his decision early or later.
“I also plan on focusing entirely on my team and our season and will not be taking visits during the 2020 season,” Milacek said. “I plan on committing early into my senior year or shortly after the season.”
Milacek is looking to step up as that senior leader after seeing Hendrix Johnson and Conner Lewis step into those roles in previous years for the Jaguars.
Regardless, Milacek has showed patience on the field and in his recruitment. Don’t expect that to change in his final year of high school football.
