issue1704Former Hamilton high school standout Cody Bellinger continues his rise to the Major Leagues. Recently, Bellinger made the cover of the prestigious Baseball America publication. Bellinger was listed as the top prospect for the LA Dodgers farm system coming into the 2017 season.

in 2016 Bellinger played primarily for the Dodgers farm team in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a short stint at Triple A Oklahoma City. He finished the year with a combined total of 26 home runs. Bellinger blasted 30 home runs for the Dodgers farm team in Rancho Cucamonga in 2015.

The Dodgers have Adrian Gonzalez as their first baseman and may sign veteran Ike Davis as a backup. There have been reports that Bellinger may see some time in the outfield this season at OKC as a way to accelerate his path to the big club in LA.  Bellinger has received a non-roster invite to the Dodgers spring training camp at Camelback Ranch, in Glendale. Camp opens on February 15th.

Bellinger graduated from Hamilton high school in 2013. He was a 2-time MVP for the Huskies and head coach Mike Woods.
