Bigger picture beyond todays loss to 49ers

10 wins never tasted so bitter.

Sundays 23-20 loss to San Francisco had to be one of the more frustrating days that I can remember in following this team over the last 20 years.
It wasn’t just the fact that Bruce Arians team had a double digit victory total and DIDN’T make the playoffs. It was more about how the game unfolded.
-Anquan Boldin ripped up the Cardinals in the first quarter
-Jay Feely missed two field goals
-Cardinals kick coverage team didn’t get the job done late, giving the 49ers a short field for the game winning kick

The bitterness will subside and the reality is the organization is headed in the right direction. A 10-win season wasn’t on anyones radar at the start of the year.
The biggest story to me was how Bruce Arians and his staff were able to rally the troops at the midpoint of the season. Remember the blowout loss at home to Seattle in October? Me either.
There will be plenty of time to discuss the future of Carson Palmer, drafting a quarterback, and the finances of Larry Fitzgerald.
I chose to look at the bigger picture and believe that the NFL team is going to be one with big expectations in 2014.
