Khalil Tate was back, the defense was dominating, and the special teams were special. That recipe led Arizona to a dominating 44-15 win over #19 Oregon, Saturday night in Tucson.
“We talked about playing four quarters,” Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin said. “Not playing a perfect game, but playing four quarters and we did that.”
J.J. Taylor ran for 212 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats. Tate had missed most of the last two games because of a ankle injury, but looked crisp against the Ducks, throwing for 189 yards and 3 scores.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Wildcats never allowed Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert to find his rhythm. The potential first pick in next years NFL Draft finished 24-48-186(less than 4 yards per catch).
Arizona moves to 3-3 in Pac-12 play(4-5 on the season), and will host Colorado next Friday.
