Brady White has always been different.
Different, in this case, is good.
Especially when you’re a true freshman quarterback who, it appears, already has a firm grasp on Mike Norvell’s high-octane offense as Arizona State continues their spring workouts in Tempe.
What’s even more incredible is the early enrollee should be preparing for prom now, not how to read a Pac-12 defense zone blitz.
“He’s been breathtaking,” SunDevilSource.com Publisher Chris Karpman told Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat in an interview Friday morning. “He’s so good. Most quarterbacks when they come in August, they’re swimming. They’re trying to figure everything out…he knows what he’s doing.”
White, a highly decorated recruit from southern California, has been lauded by some of the most well-respected quarterback coaches in the country for his fearlessness and playmaking ability as a prep standout.
Now he’s showing off his skills at ASU for the first time.
“He’s very accurate,” Karpman explained. “There’s no hesitancy throwing the ball…he’s just a different caliber of a quarterback than we’ve seen.”
White is competing with redshirt freshman Manny Wilkins for the backup spot behind senior leader Mike Bercovici who finally gets his opportunity as Taylor Kelly’s successor behind center.
“I’m really excited about the future,” White told Sports360AZ.com last month. “I’m thankful and blessed with this opportunity to be playing with these players around me and for this coaching staff. The future is bright here at ASU.”
