Recruiting is weird.
Just a month ago, everyone was looking around, wondering when would Brock Purdy get that big-time offer. His numbers backed it up. He led the Perry Pumas to the 6A state title game, a game where he threw for 322 yards and five touchdowns while adding 131 yards and an additional award-winning touchdown.
As a senior, he accumulated 4,405 passing yards, over 1,000 rushing yards and 67 total touchdowns.
Then, 28 days ago, Boise State offered the Ed Doherty Award winner.
Kansas, UCF, Iowa State and Colorado State all followed.
Alabama had offered him a preferred walk-on and said they couldn’t believe he had slipped through the cracks.
The backed up that claim with an offer of their own on Tuesday night.
Grateful to have received a full ride offer to the University of Alabama!!🏈 #RollTide pic.twitter.com/ZO0m9pZqKR

Purdy has been one of the hottest recruits in the state. The Cyclones over in Ames continue to gain momentum, UCF has visited, the Perry QB has also spoken with UCLA and he now holds an offer from the national champs.
So how will Brock Purdy’s recruitment play out?
He’ll probably handle this blitz of offers much like he handled a blitz on the field.
With poise, thoughtfulness and something that will set him up well for the next play.
