The Arizona Diamondbacks continue their struggles, dropping their second straight series. The Milwaukee Brewers to two of three games as the Snakes wrapped up their homestand.

Pollock Out
The Diamondbacks lost two games, but no loss is bigger than A.J. Pollock who has had a MVP-caliber season so far. Pollock dove for a fly ball in the series opener and rolled awkwardly onto his hand. After testing, Pollock was diagnosed with a fracture in his left thumb and will miss 4-8 weeks.

Pollock, along with David Peralta, has been the catalyst in a struggling lineup in 2018, and the club will look to overcome his loss in addition to Taijuan Walker, Robbie Ray and Jake Lamb, who are all on the disabled list currently.
“We can do one of two things,” Lovullo said of the injuries. “We can give into and say it’s affecting what’s going on or we can step up and continue to play our type of baseball and win games. I know we have ben dealt an awkward set of cards with the starting pitching and some really key injuries to some core guys, but I kow there is a clubhouse full of guys who want to step up and get the job done.”
Catching up to Koch
Matt Koch has filled in nicely for Walker in 2018, earning wins over Justin Verlander and Clayton Kershaw along the way. Entering Wednesday’s start, Koch had a 2.43 ERA in through five starts. But on Wednesday, Koch was tabbed for eight earned runs in over four innings.
Daniel Descalso
The lone bright spot offensively for the Diamondbacks offense was Daniel Descalso, who logged three RBIs this series. The Diamondbacks scored six runs.
Descalso went 2/9 with a run scored, three walks and five RBIs.
Greinke
Zack Greinke has quietly put together four very good starts. He was dominant in his start against the Brewers, but did not earn the win. In his last four he has gone:
24.2 IP, 17 H, 5 ER, 1 HR allowed, 4 BB, 26 K
The club has won three of those four starts.
What’s Next
The Diamondbacks now take to the road to take on the New York Mets. After an off-day, Zack Godley, Patrick Corbin and Zack Greinke are scheduled to throw for the Diamondbacks.
