Three-star Notre Dame Prep offensive lineman Cade Bennett has been recruited by Power 5 schools for over a year now. While there’s a lot to juggle, he’s put off most of his visits for the summer so he can focus on being a high schooler while school is still in session.
“I’m actually planning all my visits in June,” Bennett said. “I went to (Boise State) but I’ve realized I need to focus on being in high school in the moment. Once summer rolls around, it’s recruiting. That’s about time I would want to make my decision, probably end of summer I would imagine. I’m just going to knock all that out in June.”
He also wanted to see what new opportunities arose during spring ball. That’s exactly what happened when Colorado State, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, San Diego State, Wyoming, Hawaii and Yale have all offered in the last month. He said the Commodores and Yale are of interest to him and he plans to visit both schools.
Huge blessings today!! Excited to announce I have received an SEC offer from Vanderbilt University! Thank you @CoachCNorcross @AustenEverson for this amazing opportunity! pic.twitter.com/rgF4vSD3tA

In addition to those opportunities, he holds offers from Syracuse, Arizona State, Iowa State, Arizona, Purdue, Washington State, Boise State, Army, Kansas, UNLV, BYU and Oklahoma State.
He plans to visit Stillwater on May 30th.
One school that has consistently recruited him but yet to offer is Cal. It’s a school that Bennett is still very interested in, and he’s close with Perry offensive tackle Brayden Rohme, who signed with Cal this past recruiting cycle and is former high school teammates with Bears long snapper Slater Zellers.

“I work out with (Rohme) almost every Satuday,” Bennett said. “Slater obviously I went to school with him and played on the team, so knowing people and the coaches is more important than anything else.
Bennett plans to visit the Bears again and is considering Georgia Tech, Purdue and Boise State for a second time as potential visits as well.
