Let the awards start flowing for Calais Campbell and the Cardinals…
Campbell has been named “NFC Defensive Player of the Week,” for his stellar play in the Cardinals 20-18 victory over the Patriots last Sunday.
This marks the first time in team history that a player has earned “Player of the Week” honors in two separate categories.
Campbell was also named “Special Teams Player of the Week” after a Week Two victory over the Jaguars in 2009.
This is Campbell’s first “Defensive Player of the Week” honor. He’s the 23rd different Cardinal defensive player to earn the honor, and the first since Adrian Wilson did it in Week One of the 2010 season.
Campbell had ten tackles (two for loss), two sacks and three QB hits in the victory.
It was Campbell’s third career game with double-digit tackles and his fourth career multi-sack game.
