Cardinals make roster moves

The Arizona Cardinals made several roster moves on Tuesday, most notably placing nose tackle Dan Williams on season-ending injured reserve.

Williams broke his arm this past Sunday against the 49ers.

To fill Williams’ roster spot, the team has promoted defensive end Ronald Talley from the practice squad.

Talley was inactive for five games earlier in the season, after being moved up from the practice squad on September 20.

Talley also spent time on the Cardinals’ practice squad in 2010.

Talley will don jersey #96.

More roster moves of note…

Arizona signed a couple of defensive players to the practice squad: defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin and linebacker Brandon Williams. The team also released tight end Steve Skelton from the practice squad.

Lumpkin, who signed with the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent from Kentucky, was part of the team during training camp and spent the first seven weeks of the season on the practice squad.

Williams was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. He spent his rookie season on IR with a knee injury. He appeared in six games for Dallas in 2010, and had three tackles on defense and four stops on special teams.

Williams was released by the Cowboys on September 3, during their final set of roster cuts.
