The Cardinals spent a first round draft pick on guard Jonathan Cooper.
Levi Brown is expected to come back and be healthy this season.
Bobby Massie and Nate Potter will look to be even stronger on the offensive line this coming season.
Where does all this leave Adam Snyder? Not with the Cardinals. The team announced his release on Monday.
Snyder was one of Arizona’s biggest free agent signings last season. He signed a five-year, $17.5 million contract, and didn’t play up to those numbers. He struggled as both a run blocker and a pass blocker.
In order to alleviate some of the cap hit that Snyder’s going to bring to the team – which is $4 million to be exact – Arizona could designate Snyder’s release as a “June 1” cut, which would allow them to spread that amount over two seasons, with $1 million of it this season, and $3 million in 2014.
If they don’t, then they’re responsible for it all this year.
Snyder wasn’t the only guard cut on Monday. Jeremiah Warren was let go as well. Once the Cardinals drafted guard Earl Watford in the fifth round on Saturday, Warren’s days were pretty much up too.
Warren signed with the Cardinals as a free agent on January 11, 2013.
