The Cardinals got an early jump on the 2013-14 season by re-signing five players to future contracts: linebackers Tim Fugger, Colin Parker, defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin, defensive end Everrette Thompson and running back Fozzy Whittaker.
Each player finished this past season on the team’s practice squad.
In order to further bolster the offensive line, the team signed guard Jeremiah Warren to a future contract as well for 2013.
Warren spent a good portion of the season on the Patriots practice squad.
Warren signed with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent out of South Florida. He was released from the Patriots practice squad on December 24, 2012.
In what could be an encouraging sign for the future, Warren started his final 38 games at guard for South Florida.
