Alford was released on Tuesday by the Falcons.
In 2017, Pro Football Focus quantified Alford gave up an 80.7 passer rating and broke up 17 passes. He was not able to sustain that in 2018, giving up a passer rating of 138.9 and 849 yards.
Alford will suit up opposite perennial Pro Bowler Patrick Peterson in the starting lineup.
