Despite getting Drew Stanton and Carson Palmer, and already having Ryan Lindley and Brian Hoyer in place, the Cardinals seemingly aren’t content with what they have.
They want to kick the tires on Matt Barkley as well.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, head coach Bruce Arians and general manager Steve Keim will hold a private workout with Barkley on Saturday at USC.
Barkley worked out for the Bills in Los Angeles on Monday, according to a league source.
Barkley’s pro day last week was well attended, with 31 of the 32 teams represented in Los Angeles.
There’s been talk about the Cardinals having interest in Barkley, and whether or not they should take a chance on him with the seventh overall pick, or with the 38th pick in the second round (I tend to think Barkley won’t last that long).
Depending on how the workout goes this weekend with Arians and Keim, things could get even more interesting at the quarterback position for the Arizona Cardinals, especially if he puts on a show and wows them.
