Three Dot Thoughts…
Arizona wins the Pac-12 title, 83-80, over an undermanned Oregon team on Saturday night. The Ducks found out just hours before last nights game that they would be without the talented Chris Boucher(torn ACL). It was no surprise that the Wildcats were able to get the second chance points, especially late in the game. Too bad for Oregon. Boucher is a very gifted player…
Gonzaga beat Arizona head to head back in December. So you would think the Zags would be the number one seed in the West when the brackets come out later today. Arizona finished the season with a 2-4 record against teams in the top 25, while Gonzaga was 5-0. But if we just use the eye ball test, Arizona is the better team right now. There’s no excuse for the Cats to miss out on the Final Four in Glendale. None…
As much as I love having a Final Four in Glendale, Las Vegas should be on the list to host one too. Vegas has done a TERRIFIC job with the Pac-12, Mountain West, West Coast Conf, and WAC tourneys. A Final Four on the Strip would be quite a spectacle…
Not impressed with Sean Miller calling a timeout at the end of Friday nights semi-final win over UCLA. Unnecessary. Get the victory and move on. Sean makes the Pac-12 tournament entertaining and is a terrific game coach. For me, Friday nights ending wasn’t his finest hour…
Steve Kerr holds out Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala from last nights game at San Antonio. Yes, he is the head coach and can do as he likes. No, it’s not right for the fans that pay huge dollars to go see these world class athletes play. What Kerr did, was an embarrassment to the League. Holding out players and tanking games are two of the bigger issues for Adam Silver to address.
Devin Booker nails another game winner. Silly me, I thought rolling over against the Lakers Thursday night was the start of something special…
Yes. I did get your notes about Lonzo Ball not looking good against Arizona. Please stop using the term ‘overrated’. It’s not a good look on your part…
Good for Eric Mussleman!..
NFL free agency is a place to go shopping till fill holes on missed draft picks or decent players chasing a bigger paycheck. A year ago there was angst when Rashad Johnson left the Cardinals for Tennessee. This time around it’s Tony Jefferson and Calais Campbell pulling the rip-cord on Arizona. I don’t blame the players for trying to back up the Brinks truck. Steve Keim needs his last two first round picks to give solid production in 2017. If D.J. Humphries and Robert NKemdiche produce at their respective positions, it’s a huge upgrade over 2016. If not, well, the term “bust” may start to circulate around the two…
