Gunner Maldonado has already been a unique player in Chandler’s storied history, starting on both sides of the ball for the Wolves last year, something that hadn’t happened before in the Shaun Aguano era.
Now, the playmaker who projects to be a safety at the next level has his college destination decided: Northwestern.

Maldonado appeared in just eight games last year due to injury, but that didn’t stop him from making an impact.
Over his two years at the varsity level, he’s logged 50 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions. Offensively, he caught 38 passes for 782 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games last year.
In addition to Northwestern, the safety holds offers from Memphis, South Dakota State, Arizona State, Iowa State, Indiana, Arizona, Yale and Utah State.
Maldonado will join his former teammate Drake Anderson on the Northwestern roster.
