Editor’s Note: Between the interview and posting of this story, the University of Arizona offered Buckner.
Class of 2021 Chandler defensive end Brandon Buckner is coming off a sophomore season with eight tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks in a reserve role. Colleges took notice 6’2″, 236-pound Buckner with offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Maryland, Oregon State, NAU and Arizona.
It’s been a busy spring for Buckner. Not only has his recruitment picked up steam, but he also won the defensive line MVP at the Oakland regional of The Opening.

Buckner talks about various Pac-12 offers, visiting Clemson – the alma mater of his parents – and how Shaun Aguano wasted no time offering him when the coach made the move from the Wolves to Arizona State in the video above.
This summer, he plans to visit Clemson and Notre Dame.
