It’s been a busy couple of hours in the recruiting scene here in Arizona. Offers have been as steady as Thursday’s rain in the state, and a top running back has re-opened his recruitment. Let’s get you caught up:
Darvon Hubbard De-Commits
The former Chaparral running back is now with Willow Canyon High School, and the longtime Ohio State commit announced on Thursday he was decommiting from the Buckeyes. In a tweet, he cited the coaching change in Columbus as the reason for the decision.
Prior to his commitment, Hubbard held offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Bowling Green, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Toledo and Utah.
Hubbard is a part of another strong running back class in the state. He headlines the group along with Salpointe Catholic’s Bijan Robinson and Saguaro’s Benjamin as running backs with offers in the class.
Please respect my decision. . . pic.twitter.com/BNe5srI0EI

Power 5 for Chubba
Perry quarterback Chubba Purdy did not dissapoint in his first season starting, accumulating 3,425 passing yards, 1,152 rushing yards and 59 total touchdowns. He has plenty of programs’ attention and holds offers from UNLV, NAU, Yale, Toledo and Dartmouth. On Thursday, he picked up his first Power 5 offer from Colorado. Colorado looked very wise when they offered then-Brophy defensive back Isaiah Oliver. He ended up being an All-Pac-12 selection and a second round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in last year’s NFL draft. I’m sure the Buffaloes are hoping Purdy has a similar fate and jumped in early on the stat-stuffing quarterback.
Blessed and honored to have received my first Power 5 offer from The University Of Colorado!! Thank you @JayJohnsonFB pic.twitter.com/fhqL0aANps

NAU Keeping Busy
I’ve said before multiple times that NAU came on strong in the class of 2019 and had some great momentum in the state. Now, they are not wasting any time jumping into the class of 2020. On Thursday, the Lumberjacks offered a trio of Higley athletes in Jason Harris, Alex Lines and Zach Kriens, as well as Hamilton linebacker Jeremiah Trojan. Look for the ‘Jacks to be out in full force in Chris Ball’s first full recruiting class.
