Mike Bell, D-Backs Director of Player Development:
“Shoot he was 97 to 101 MPH last year. He’s a strong arm right handed pitcher. On paper he seems like he’s older and should be a little further along but he went on a Mormon Mission, missed a couple years of pitching. He just needs more experience in the role we had him in in the bullpen but anyone who throws 100 has a chance. With him it’s command with that fastball and keeping it down. He’s still learning.”

Notes:
(Updated 7/5) Miller started the season closing for Mobile and got off to a rocky start. After being pulled from the position after four save tries, he has settled down and brought his inflated numbers down tremendously. Miller got hurt and was placed on the disabled list on June 10th. He since was placed on the AZL-DBacks for a rehab assignment rather than sending him back to Mobile. Miller overall has brought his 9.35 April ERA down to 4.44 with his sub-two ERA in the last two months combined.
