Mike Bell, D-Backs Director of Player Development:
“He is definitely a free swinger. He has big raw tools. Can hit the ball a long way, throws the ball hard, he runs well, he’s a five-tool guy, he’s a big man but it was raw last year. In the Fall League it started to click for him a little bit. He didn’t miss his pitch, he laid off some tough pitches and he is really maturing as a player.”

Notes:
(Updated 7/5) Guerrero followed up a rough May with a fantastic June hitting over .300 for the month and getting the call up to Reno. His home run numbers are down as of now on the season but his doubles, batting average and walk rate is way up. All the signs of a talented hitter who is beginning to mature and have a better eye and mentality at the plate. If he continues to progress like this, he could be a big impact player for the Diamondbacks in the coming years. And oh by the way, his one home run with Reno was in walk-off fashion during his first game with the Aces and can be seen below.
