Mike Bell, D-Backs Director of Player Development:
“I’ve watched Socrates play since he was in the Dominican Republic and he was fun to watch then with the way he ran and the raw tools that he had. He’s gotten better every year and has not stopped. He went to a very difficult league last year with Mobile in the Southern League and he managed it well. He faced some really good pitching and adjusted to that well. He’s got all the tools, I think he is going to make a big impact in the Major Leagues very soon.”

Notes:
(Updated 7/6) Brito was called back up to the D-Backs after having an incredibly productive month of June with the Aces hitting just under .400 in 16 games. The biggest change was his strikeouts. He was K’d 28 times in 112 AB’s in the month of May. In 68 AB’s with Reno in June, he was K’d just eight times. The same day he hit a two run blast at Coors Field in Denver, he was placed on the disabled list after sustaining a fractured right toe.
