Mike Bell, D-Backs Director of Player Development:
“I talked to Robby Hammock about him because they faced him when he was with Biloxi last year. Very good sinker. He is a tough guy on the mound and they had a difficult time when they faced him. Tremendous competitor.”

Notes:
(Updated 7/5) Wagner was called up to the Big Leagues already this season and was fantastic in long-relief roles for the Diamondbacks. It is huge for his confidence after having been called up by the Brewers for the first time in his career last season and it did not go well for him. Wagner has since been sent back down where he will be put back into a starting role with Reno and had picked up where he left off pitching well like he did at the big league level until he landed on the Disabled List on May 14th.
