Monday is a big night for the Diamondbacks, who have seven picks in the MLB draft’s first 75 picks.
With their first pick, 16th overall, the club selected prep outfielder Corbin Carroll.
MLB Network analyst Dan O’Dowd raved about the pick, and Jim Thome compared Carroll to Angels utility player Tommy La Stella and Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi.
An average of .500. A slugging percentage of 1.000. An on-base percentage of .615. #ForGlory??
Congrats to @Corbin_Carroll on being selected No. 16 overall by the @DBacks! #MLBDraft #RattleOn pic.twitter.com/Z2ATIfFfba
