The 2011 Arizona Diamondback season was special. Not just to the players and organization, but to the fans as well.
And they showed that on Saturday as fans piled into Chase Field for the annual Dbacks Fan fest. Estimated that over 25,000 fans of all ages came through the event to connect and show their appreciation for their favorite team.
“It’s fun to see all the fans and their excitment and it definitely makes us excited,’ explained David Hernandez on Saturday. “It’s fun to meet different people who come out and support you and it means a lot to us.”
Last season, the Fan Fest attendance was about half what it was Saturday. Just like last season for the Diamondbacks, what a difference a year makes.
“It’s always nice to connect with the fans and re-live last years incredible run we went on,” said J.J. Putz on Saturday. “It’s great to hear the stories of what they were feeling during those times.”
The Diamondbacks first Spring Training game is March 3 against rival San Francisco Giants from Scottsdale Stadium.
