A change in coordinator did nothing on Saturday to solve the sieve that is the Arizona defense. Oregon State rang up 572 yards in total offense, in throttling the Wildcats 56-38 in Tucson.
The Beavers averaged 5.8 yards per carry in amassing 244 yards on the ground against Chuck Cecil’s defense. The Wildcat legend was put in charge on Monday, replacing Marcel Yates. The numbers also showed that Oregon State averaged 16. 4 yards per catch!!!!! While Cecil has an impressive resume, he can’t change out the players in 2019, so this may be the norm for the remaining three games of the season.
Beaver quarterback Jake Luton threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns, while rolling up 35 points in the first half.
Arizona was led by quarterback Grant Gunnell who threw for two touchdowns and 269 yards. The Wildcats have now lost four straight and have to win two of their last three games in order to become bowl eligible. Next up for UArizona, a road game at nationally ranked Oregon on November 16th.
